Biography
My name is Dionte Gill, born & raised in Philadelphia, I'm a young Cinematographer. I've directed several of my own short films & music videos. Outside of my studies, I'm also a dancer/choreographer, song-writer, actor, model, author, active volunteer for various programs throughout Philadelphia, and proud member of the LGBT community. I work with various programs centering around the sexual health of teens in North Philadelphia and LGBT activism including certain rights for LGBT students such as myself.
Background
In high school, I majored in visual arts for 2 years where i studied cereamics and 2D art such as pencil sketching, inking and painting. I then switched to "MDTV" which was essentially Cinematography, Photography, and Graphic Design combined into one major. As a former Visual Arts student with a background in Graphic Design, I've designed logos & posters for various businesses and programs. I've also directed, shot, written, edited, and acted in several of my own short films and music videos.
Influence
When it comes to my music, I use it as a way of expression that allows me to be apologetically myself. My biggest inspirations include Todrick Hall, Missy Elliott, Nicki Minaj. My music & videos are made to be fun and entertaining. The aren't many mainstream openly gay rappers out there, so I aim to become one! As far as my cinematography, I am a huge fan of anything horror or Sci-Fi. I like to play with interesting camera angles and lighting. My inspirations include Lee Daniels, Wes Craven, & Tim Burton.
